VP Tours Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Oval
The Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Hon. Kembo Campbell Dugish Mohadi, today toured the Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Oval in Victoria Falls.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Hon. Lt. General (Rtd) Ambassador A. N. Sanyatwe; the Secretary for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Mr. Ncholas Moyo; the Secretary for Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Dr. Munyanyiwa; the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. T. M. Mnangagwa; the Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Engineer Amos Marawa; and other senior Government officials.
The event was also attended by the Director General of the Sports and Recreation Commission, Mr. Allen Mavunga, the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket, Hon. T. Mukuhlani, and Managing Director Mr. Givemore Makoni.
The tour provided an opportunity to assess progress on the world-class facility, which is set to become a flagship venue for international cricket and sports tourism ahead of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
The visit underscores Government’s unwavering commitment to the development of modern sporting infrastructure as a catalyst for economic growth, destination marketing, youth development, and the attainment of the National Development Strategy 2, while reinforcing Zimbabwe’s readiness to host major international sporting events
