A major milestone in regional sports development!
The Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Hon Lt Gen (Rtd) A. N. Sanyatwe, officially launched the Executive Sports Management Development Programme at Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE).
Jointly delivered by AUSC Region 5 and Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE), the programme puts sports management development on the regional agenda.
The two-semester diploma programme will bring together sports management professionals from 10 Southern African countries: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The initiative seeks to strengthen sports leadership, promote accountability and modernise sports administration across the region.
Speaking at the launch, Hon Sanyatwe emphasised that sport has evolved beyond recreation and competition to become a powerful driver of economic growth, employment creation, youth empowerment, tourism and social cohesion.
The programme advances Zimbabwe’s national development aspirations under NDS2 and Vision 2030, positioning sport as a strategic contributor to economic transformation and regional cooperation.
