The Isizinda Culture Centre in Maphisa, Matabeleland South, has been officially opened today, marking a significant milestone in advancing Zimbabwe’s Creative and Cultural Industries.
The centre is more than a facility, it is a hub for talent development, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. It provides a dedicated space for artists, creatives, and young people to hone their skills, showcase their work and participate in structured arts and cultural programmes.
The establishment of Culture Centres across the country by the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture aims to:
• Promote and preserve our rich cultural heritage,
• Create sustainable livelihoods within the creative economy,
• Empower youth through skills development and innovation,
• Strengthen community participation in arts and culture and
• Drive inclusive economic growth in line with national development priorities.
