The World Comes to Zimbabwe
| ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026
Today marked a proud and historic moment for Zimbabwean sport as a high-level delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Hon. Emily Jesaya, together with Zimbabwe Cricket and the International Cricket Council (ICC) officials, paid a courtesy call on the Acting President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Hon. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga, in Harare.
The delegation officially presented the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup trophy, symbolising Zimbabwe’s readiness to co-host the global showpiece alongside Namibia from 15 January to 6 February 2026. Zimbabwe will host the majority of the matches, including the knockout stages and the final, reinforcing the nation’s growing stature as a trusted host of international sporting events.
The courtesy call reaffirms Government’s full support for sport as a driver of youth empowerment, national unity, tourism growth, and international engagement under the Brand Zimbabwe.
As the countdown begins, we proudly introduce the future of Zimbabwean cricket our “Young Chevrons” who will carry the nation’s hopes onto the world stage.
